In association with Chemostrat Limited, we have produced a non-proprietary study of the Carboniferous of the Gainsborough Trough, onshore UK.

Application: Provides an independent sub-regional correlation framework for the Carboniferous (Dinantian to Westphalian). Biostratigraphy and δ13Corg isotopes provide a regional chronostratigraphy for the correlation. XRD data collected has been used to calibrate the normative mineralogy calculations providing mineralogical logs for the study wells. Elemental data is also used to highlight zones of biogenic (or excess), which are not visible on traditional XRD analysis. TOC has been collected to characterise the organic matter preservation, which can be correlated to the redox elements.
Quads: SD, SE, TA, SJ, SK, TF.
Stratigraphic Range: Dinantian to Westphalian (Carboniferous).
Techniques: Biostraigraphy, Chemostratigraphy, X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Total Organic Carbon (TOC), δ13Corg Isotopic Analysis.
All well studies available to purchase now.
All our non-exclusive data sets are available to buy as individual wells, a selection of wells or as the entire report. For more information please contact us.
